A huge new personal record....

The elliptical is evil. I had attempted several times, prior to October, to be successful and it kicked my arse everytime. So bad, I could never make it more than 5 minutes. See, evil.

Hubby and I hit the gym earlier for what I set out to be a run on the treadmill and a workout written by my PT. I also had a goal to do 5 minutes on the demon machine, since I hadn't attempted since October.

So after a quick run (15 min) I stopped, grabbed my water and towel and moved one row up to the elliptical. Sigh, I thought, I can do anything for 5 minutes.

So I go...

And I went...

And I kept on going...

For 30 minutes and 2.5 miles.

& I could've went further but we were on a schedule and had to be other places.

How amazing I felt. How accomplished.

I did it!!!

I've never, ever been able to do more than 5 minutes without tears of misery and a body that was in so much pain. Pushing past the soreness, was never an option. I just couldn't.

I can't believe how far my fitness levels have came since surgery, almost 5 months ago.

I just wanted to share and hopefully inspire.

Never give up...set goals, you will achieve them!

  1. What a great NSV! You will only get stronger each day. Congratulations!

By the way - great job on the demon machine!!

  5. Congrats on the elliptical victory! That is amazing. It gives me hope, the longest I've been able to do is about 14 minutes but anytime I stop going regularly, I have to start all over again and build myself up to it.

  6. that is an amazing NSV! i can't imagine ever doing more than five on that devil thing. way to go!

  7. AWESOME! Super jealous. I could barely do two minutes on it. You're rockin' your body!

  8. First off I agree about the elliptical. It is a total love hate relationship. I have worked up to 30 minutes as well and that is what has given me my "power" to run on the treadmill. Congrats on a great goal. You have the power :)!!

  9. Nikki! I think this is my first comment on your blog! I feel like there are so many bandsters I have a hard time keeping up with everyone! But just wanted to tell you congrats on the demon machine! HAHA! Thats how I feel too! I can do the treadmill all day but the thanks! Thanks for the inspiration...I need to just get back on and take the bull by the horns! Have a great rest of your weekend!

  10. What an awesome NSV! Great job!
