this is normal? On Wednesday I will be three weeks post-op. My lapo-incisions are perfect, I have no more pain, the swelling is gone - so no post-surgery restriction. In fact, it's as if none of this ever happened. I can't feel the band. I can eat and at normal portions. This is bandster hell, right? I have myself convinced that this isn't normal. I should have restriction and I should've just gotten the sleeve. Is everyone like this prior to their first fill? My weight-loss has stalled, which I'm totally bummed about. I pushed all my goals forward a month, so I could calcualte with my first fill, which is next Wednesday.
Feeling a bit gloomy and all alone.

You are perfectly normal! And yes, this is bandster hell for sure. Just try to make good food choices and I continued to measure out 1 cup servings and eat slow. Once you have your fill, you will feel the difference.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone! I'm over six weeks post op and STILL havent' gotten my first fill! I'm sure you've read, I can eat anything & any amounts. It's really rare that someone comes out of surgery with great restriction, so don't worry. Just try to use willpower (haha, if we had that we wouldn't need the band in the first place, right!) until you get in for your fill!
ReplyDeleteYes this normal. It's hell because your tool isn't working just yet, it's up to you at this point. It does get better, I promise! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteYes girlie - it is bandster HELL. I didn't lose ANY weight almost the first three weeks after surgery. It takes a while, which is why you have to watch everything portion wise. Your body is still healing, so what I did was take 1/2 of whatever was on my plate and either throw it away or pack it up for leftovers. You're doing fine. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally, absolutely, unequivocally NORMAL. I am at the point where I have no restriction either and am eating everything in sight. Luckily, hoping to have my first fill Thursday. Everyone feels this way until they get some fills under their belt. HANG IN THERE!
ReplyDeleteHaving not been banded yet, I can't comment on what "bandster hell" might be - or might feel like. Just know that you're doing great so far, and I am sending you a ((hug)) to put a smile on your face! You'll get there - just keep going!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Thank you for saying this!!! I was banded one day after you and I feel the EXACT same. I'm going to see the surgeon tomorrow cause I'm so worried thats its not normal. I don't even feel like I have a lap band!!
ReplyDeleteTotally normal! It's a sucky place too. I've had my first fill already and I'm already ready for another. It's been sheer willpower to keep me from eating way more than I should.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the wonderful comments. I'm sorry we all have to experience this! I know the results will come...just wish they weren't so slow.
ReplyDeleteYeah I still don't have an appointment for my first fill. It's really bugging me! I'm hoping for next week.
